Notify Events are crucial for automating communications and actions based on pre-defined triggers linked to the lifecycle of an issue.
Accessing Notify Events 🚀
To access and manage Notify Events, navigate through the GimCore administrative interface:
- From the Left Menu, locate and click on Project Notify.
- Within the Project Notify submenu, select Events.
This action directs you to the Notify Events screen, which displays a comprehensive data table of all configured notify events.
Understanding the Notify Events Data Table 📊
The Notify Events screen presents a data table that lists all current notify events with their essential properties. Each column provides critical information:
- Status: Indicates the current operational status of the event (e.g., Active, Inactive).
- Name: A user-defined identifier for the notify event.
- Issue Status: The specific issue status that triggers this event.
- Project: The project to which this notify event is assigned.
- Actions: Contains control icons for managing individual records.
Adding a New Notify Event ➕
To configure a new notify event, follow these steps:
- On the Notify Events screen, locate and click the Add New button, typically situated in the page header.
- A Create Notify Event modal dialog will appear, presenting a form for new event configuration. Input the following details:
- Name: Enter a unique and descriptive name for the notify event.
- Issue Status: Select the specific issue status from the dropdown menu that will trigger this event. This is where you link the notification to a particular stage of an issue's lifecycle.
- Project: Choose the project from the dropdown menu where this event will be active.
- Other Configuration Fields: Complete any additional required fields for event type, templates, recipients, etc., as per your notification requirements.
- After entering all necessary information, click the Save button within the modal to create the new notify event.
Editing an Existing Notify Event ✏️
To modify the properties of an existing notify event, including its associated issue status:
- In the Notify Events data table, locate the event you wish to modify.
- In the Actions column for that specific event, click the Edit (pencil icon) button.
- An Update Notify Event modal dialog will appear, pre-populated with the current event details. Adjust the following as needed:
- Name: Modify the name if required.
- Issue Status: Change the triggering issue status by selecting a different option from the dropdown menu.
- Project: Reassign the project if necessary.
- Other Configuration Fields: Update any other relevant event parameters.
- After making all desired changes, click the Update button within the modal to save your modifications.
Deleting a Notify Event 🗑️
To remove a notify event from the system:
- In the Notify Events data table, find the event you intend to delete.
- In the Actions column for that event, click the Delete (trash can icon) button.
- A confirmation dialog will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. Review the details carefully.
- Click Confirm to permanently remove the notify event. This action cannot be undone.
